Biography

Dylan Powers is a freelance editor and director. He served as 1st assistant director on the short film "Solus Country", which received a Capital Emmy in the Fiction Long Form category. Dylan was also the lead editor and 1st assistant director on the short film "Costumer's Only", which is currently in its festival run along with the horror short "Helena's Song", his directorial debut.

Editing and assistant directing isn't new to Dylan. During his time at Towson University, he held both those roles on the horror short “Prom Night”, which has won "Best Local Film" at the Soul 4 Reel film festival, "Best Student Fantasy Short" & "Best Student Score" at The Pittsburgh Moving Picture Festival: Thriller Picture Show. As a video editor, he has done work for nonprofit organizations such as the Pheo Para Alliance, and worked as an assistant editor for a series of short documentaries for the National Comedy Center. Dylan's experience in live production and broadcasting stems from his work as Senior Event Technician for Towson University’s Event and Conference Services, where he was responsible for managing audio-visual systems for all non-academic events on campus.

Dylan is currently working as an assistant video editor for Townsend Visuals, a production company in Maryland. Dylan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media and Film, where he had the honor of being the College of Fine Arts and Communication's commencement speaker.
