Biography
Dylan Powers is a freelance editor and director. He served as 1st assistant director on the short film "Solus Country", which received a Capital Emmy in the Fiction Long Form category. Dylan was also the lead editor and 1st assistant director on the short film "Costumer's Only" and "Prom Night", the latter of which receiving the "Best Local Film" award at the Soul 4 Reel film festival, as well as the "Best Student Fantasy Short" & "Best Student Score" at The Pittsburgh Moving Picture Festival: Thriller Picture Show. Dylan's directorial debut, "Helena's Song" is his most recent work, currently available to view online.
As a video editor, Dylan has a wide range of abilities, from creating testimonials and infographics for non profit organizations, to punchy social media edits to strengthen companies' brand image. He's worked on both documentary and narrative short films, real estate home tours, employee interviews, and biographical shorts.
Dylan's experience in live production and broadcasting stems from his work as Senior Event Technician for Towson University’s Event and Conference Services, where he was responsible for managing audio-visual systems for all non-academic events on campus.
Dylan is currently working as an assistant video editor for Townsend Visuals, a production company in Maryland. Dylan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media and Film, where he had the honor of being the College of Fine Arts and Communication's commencement speaker.
